Group Head of Data Privacy Office

National Grid

Bethany Singer-Baefsky is the Group Chief Privacy Officer for National Grid, where she is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and oversight of their Data Privacy and Records Management program. Prior to National Grid, Bethany was the Global Head of Data Privacy for iRobot Corp., the creator of Roomba robotic vacuum cleaners. Bethany's expertise is in data strategy, privacy-by-design methodology, data governance, third party risk management, and building and communicating business cases. She is an experienced public speaker and presents regularly at conferences and on panels both domestically and internationally.

​Bethany is a Fellow of Information Privacy with the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) and has six IAPP certifications. She completed her B.A. in Government and International Relations at Smith College, a year of study at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and an LL.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar conducting research on international courts.
