Asst. Director of Alumni Engagement & Career ServicesU.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association ยทLaura Holveck, LCDR USCG (Ret.), currently serves as the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and Career Services at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association in New London, CT, since February 2023. In this position she bridges the gap of resources and knowledge for transitioning and active USCGA alumni during their professional careers, helping them reach their goals. She retired from the Coast Guard in March 2023 after nearly 22 years of active duty service.
Originally from Sturbridge, MA, Laura graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2001 with a B.S. in Operations Research. She served as a ship driver on the USCGC SPENCER (WHEC-905) and later became a Naval Rotary Wing Aviator from 2005 to 2012. Laura flew the Dolphin H-65 B/C/D helicopters at Air Stations Miami and Atlantic City, qualifying as an Aircraft Commander for Search and Rescue, ship landings, and the Rotary Wing Air Intercept mission for the National Capitol Region Air Defense Facility. She earned a M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven in 2014. Laura then served in numerous military leadership development roles for USCGA from 2014 to 2017 and subsequently served as USCGA Management Faculty from 2019-2022 teaching Organizational Behavior and Consulting. Laura was the inaugural School Chief for the Midgrade Officer and Civilian 3-month hybrid leadership development course while at the USCG Leadership Development Center from 2017-2019. Laura now resides in southeastern Connecticut with her husband, Crist Holveck, LCDR USCG (Ret.) and three daughters, Meagan, Kathryn, and Liberty. |
