Director, US Public and Regulatory Policy

BNP Paribas

Michele Jones is Director of US Government and Regulatory Affairs at BNP Paribas (BNPP). Michele joined BNPP in 2023 and focuses on prudential regulatory policy matters as well as policy developments related to ESG and digital assets. Prior to joining BNPP, Michele was a Senior Manager in the Deloitte Center for Regulatory Strategy, where she provided insights on banking regulatory policy developments and served as the lead for policy topics including climate, consumer protection, and financial inclusion.

​Before joining Deloitte, Michele was a banking supervisor in the federal government for over 14 years. At the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FRB), Michele worked in the Division of Supervision and Regulation, with roles in the Large and Foreign Banking Organizations, Regional Banking Organizations, and Mergers and Acquisitions sections.

At the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Michele became a Commissioned Risk Management Examiner in the Division of Risk Management and Supervision. Michele earned her Master of International Public Policy (Johns Hopkins SAIS), Master of Management Studies in Systemic Risk (Yale School of Management), and Master of Business Administration (Southern Connecticut State University). She has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Spelman College.
